International Paulo Cello Competition, which is regarded as one of the most distinguished and demanding cello competitions in the world, received altogether 80 applications. Chairman of the preselection jury, Professor Arto Noras, praised the exceptionally high standard and professional preparation of competitors. International Paulo Cello Competition will start in the Helsinki Conservatory of music, and the second round will be held in Lahti Sibelius Hall. Finals will be in Espoo Cultural Centre and Helsinki Music Centre. The Paulo Foundation is the main patron of International Paulo Cello Competition.
